HOPE EXPLORED

Hope Explored is an informal and relaxed three-week course. It's for anyone who wants to find hope, peace and purpose in life.  It's run by ordinary Christian people local to you and is completely free. You don't need to know anything about the Bible, and you won't be asked to pray or sing. You can ask any question you like, or you can just sit and listen.

Whoever you are, whatever you're thinking, Hope Explored is a place for you to discover the hope of a future that is better than you could ever imagine.  Join us for three weeks on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, April 20th - May 4th.

NEW SERMON SERIES - "ALL IN"

The new sermon series, "ALL IN" seeks to instruct our congregation in LBC’s purpose and mission as a church. We will also cover our core identities and our vision for the year. Most importantly, we desire to be “all in” on the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the book of Philippians, the apostle Paul teaches us how to be committed to the gospel through his instructions and encouragement to the church at Philippi. The discussion questions for this week can be found HERE. For previous week's discussion questions click HERE.

Lent.png

LENT

Lent is about Jesus and remembering His sacrifice for our sins.  Contrary to some popular conceptions of Lent, this season is not about making ourselves acceptable to God.  Instead, this time provides us an opportunity to acknowledge our sins and remember Jesus' once-for-all-time sacrifice.  We are forgiven through Christ!

Each week during Lent, we will emphasize things to "put off" and things to "put on" (Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:5-17).  We put off sin and things which can dull our affection for Jesus.  We put on practices that orient our hearts to the Lord.

This week "put off" comfort.  We live in an individualistic society that values comfort as a means of self-satisfaction. Christians, however, are part of a Kingdom, whose King died to Himself, to serve and save everyone else. We are called to bear that same cross. Step out of your comfort zone by opening up your home to someone.

This week, "put on" hospitality.  Pick an evening this week to invite a neighbor and church friend over for dinner. Perhaps this will be a good opportunity to serve that one friend whom you have been praying for every day to come to know Jesus Christ.

Adult Learning Group .png

ADULT LEARNING GROUP

Our rally cry this year is “Walk Worthy”. To help us put this call into its proper context, the Thursday night learning group will be focused on the New Testament letter of Colossians. In it, we will see that our ability to “walk worthy” is totally dependent on, and flows from, our relationship with Jesus. Paul’s letter shows us that everything we need to live out our faith in a fallen world is found in Christ alone. So join us Thursday evenings as we explore our sufficiency in Christ.
